Meow!
Ah! There isn't much to talk about today, except that I ate kebab for lunch and tuna for dinner...
I know how Kitten Carlyle [ http://www.unitedmedia.com/comics/kitncarlyle/ ] feels!
Friday (30 Dec.) is a big day... A friend will get married, and it seems that we will do lots of dancing, yippee!

To A Very Dear Friend
Hi!
Today I have arrived in the north of Iraq, and tonight we held a farewell party to a dear dear friend of ours leaving Iraq. This friend will leave on New Year's Day, leaving behind a big un-fillable gap; nevertheless, one would look back and celebrate all of what that friend represented in our lives. Days with that friend are full of good memories, so this is what we celebrated and will always remember, despite the sadness of that friend's leaving us, without knowing when we would be able to meet.
So, to this dear friend of mine, I send my warmest regards and best wishes; and for being older than me, being highly esteemed, and a person of so many favors on me; I follow the Turkish tradition in dealing with older siblings, and I kiss that friend's hand, and put it on my forehead in gratitude; Something that I never did to anyone before, and will never do to anyone after, for that friend's hard working hands for good, are hands that God likes and blesses, as per a Prophet Mohammed's saying.
Goodbye, dearest friend K; keep in touch, and may God never deprive us from you, or your e-presence.

Of Driving & Barb Wires
Lots of shooting around yesterday's noon, and it was close...
We didn't know who shot who, and why.
A certain parameter in the area has been closed for some days now with barbwire or concrete bricks.
It is bothersome when you drive, because you end up doing long curves to pass a normal day couple of hundred yards/meters. Again, nobody provides answers, as usual.
Today I went to downtown Baghdad; it was relatively calm, although there were some big demonstrations against the elections results.
I stayed inside Baghdad for some 4 hours before returning home on the west side of the river.
Tomorrow is another day!

The Launch
Hi There! And welcome to the launch of my blog!
In this blog, i will give you first hand words on some of what is really happening in Iraq, what people are talking about, what is happening on the ground; or, sometimes, i will be giving you observations of different people's opinions; or sometimes, you will know stuff about Iraq you don't usually get in the daily news coverage.
Alrighty then! Let's begin!
